I'm a licensed Registered Dietitian and founder of Purely Nourished! I started my private practice to break away from the cookie cutter mold of what a "traditional dietitian" is expected to be. While nutrition is a foundational pillar of health, it’s only one piece of the puzzle. True wellness takes more than just healthy eating—it also requires quality sleep, effective stress management, exercise you enjoy, a strong support system, and a grounded mindset.In my experience working alongside other dietitians, I often saw clients being educated only on nutrition—leaving out the other vital pieces previously mentioned that support long-term well-being. Unsurprisingly, many clients weren’t seeing the progress they hoped for. Was it their fault? Not at all. They simply have not been taught how everything fits together. So, I decided to build my practice to teach you my philosophy.This is the space where I get real and vulnerable with you. My passion for nutrition and wellness began over 20 years ago. At 19 years old, I was diagnosed with Graves' disease. Before that, I thought I hit the genetic jackpot—I could eat whatever I wanted without gaining weight. In my teens, my best friend and I had what we called “Fatty Fridays,” where we would raid the fridge and binge on frozen pizzas, buffalo wings, double-stuffed cookies, chips with French onion dip—you name it! I would always end those weekends feeling bloated, sluggish, and sick to my stomach. To make myself feel better I would say my signature quote: “My healthy diet starts on Monday!”Everything changed after I got diagnosed with Graves' disease. My TSH levels were dangerously low and I underwent Radioactive Iodine Therapy (RAI therapy)—a treatment typically used for thyroid cancer or in my case an overactive thyroid gland. It completely destroyed my thyroid gland and I was then diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I was handed a lifelong prescription for Synthroid—no nutrition guidance, no education on the condition, just a pill.

As the weight gradually piled on from my metabolism slowing down, so did the frustration and depression. I remembered thinking, “I’m too young for this... don't older people get this condition?” But then I asked myself: “Do I want this diagnosis to be a blessing or a curse?” I chose to make it a blessing. Getting diagnosed with hypothyroidism was incredibly tough because of the symptoms—but the silver lining is that it led me to discover my passion for nutrition and I ultimately became healthier than I have ever been. That moment marked my turning point and the beginning of my wellness journey....I began by cleaning up my nutrition, but over time, I realized that true wellness goes beyond what’s on your plate. Over the years, I learned how to eat intuitively, manage stress, prioritize sleep, move my body consistently, become more mindful of who I spent time with and where I directed my energy.I started to become more aware as I watched family and friends struggle with their weight—counting calories, measuring food and cycling through diet trends like Atkins diet. They would lose weight only to gain it back just as quickly. I knew there had to be a better, more sustainable way to be healthy and feel good in your body.Now, at 40 years old, I listen intuitively to what my body needs in the moment and what feels right for me. People often say, “Oh, you’re just naturally thin—you’re so lucky!” But luck has nothing to do with it. I’ve spent the last 20+ years researching metabolism, the significant role of gut health on well being, nutrition, exercise, sleep, and the effects of stress on the body. I'm not your typical dietitian—and I’ll tell you why I stand out from all the other dietitians.Let's be real with each other...Life is a beautiful chaos! Who has time to follow the recommendations from a traditional dietitian to count points, measure portions, take measurements, weigh yourself daily, count calories, and macros? Then after doing all that time consuming nonsense, you self-loathe at the end of the night because you went "over" your calories or macros. It's a cycle that steals your energy and joy!Together as a team, let's take a more holistic sustainable approach—one that takes a look at the ENTIRE picture of your life including nutrition, stress management, lifestyle habits, sleep quality, exercise, and your inner support circle—not just focusing on one area like what's on your plate. What use is a nutrition plan from a dietitian if you're running on 4 hours of sleep a night, highly stressed (Hello cortisol and belly fat!), sedentary all day, and the rest of your life feels out of balance? Nutrition is just one piece of the puzzle and you need ALL of the pieces of the puzzle to feel your best!Alright, so now that we’ve cleared that up that I don’t just focus on nutrition—here’s another reason that sets me apart: Together we focus less on the results and more on the process that actually gets you the results. I believe in building a strong foundation by focusing on your daily actions—what you can control—instead of obsessing over the results.

You can’t always control the results—like how much weight you lose, your lab numbers or how energized you feel on any given day—but you can control your actions like what you eat, how much you exercise, what time you go to sleep, and how you manage stress. In a world that constantly promotes instant gratification—quick fixes, fast results, crash diets—I take a different approach. Step 1: Book Your Free Discovery Call

We’ll start with a free 15-minute call to get to know each other. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, share your goals, and we’ll decide if we’re a good fit to move forward!

Step 2: Schedule a 1:1 Initial Nutrition & Lifestyle Consultation

This is a 60–90 minute in depth virtual session where we review your health history, explore your eating habits, exercise, stress management, sleep quality, lifestyle, and discuss goals. You’ll receive your personalized nutrition and lifestyle plan to support your goals within 2–3 business days after our consultation.

Step 3: Choose Your Path Forward

After the initial consultation, you can:

  • Book single follow-up sessions as needed.

  • Invest in a package of sessions for ongoing support and savings.

Step 4: Ongoing Support

Follow-up virtual sessions are 45 minutes and fully personalized to support your needs—whether that’s working on intuitive eating, improving your eating habits, enhancing sleep quality, supporting gut health, boosting metabolism, managing stress or making lifestyle changes.

FAQs


Q: What is the difference between a registered dietitian and a nutritionist?

Registered Dietitians:

  • A registered dietitian must complete at least a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition. (As of January 1st, 2024, a Master's Degree in Nutrition is required.)

  • Completion of an ACEND-accredited supervised practice internship program including at least 1200 hours in various settings including but not limited to: hospitals, outpatient centers, and private practices.

  • A registered dietitian earns the national credential by passing a board exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

  • Required completion of at least 75 continuing education hours every 5 years for registration renewal.

  • Recognized by professional sport organizations, hospitals, schools, and government organizations.

  • Often required to obtain a state license to practice medical nutrition therapy for conditions including but not limited to diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, and eating disorders. Required completion of at least 30 continuing education hours every 2 years for license renewal.

Nutritionists:

  • The title "nutritionist" isn’t regulated in many states, which means anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, regardless of their education or training.

  • Education as a nutritionist varies from advanced degrees, short courses or no education.

  • Not qualified or legally allowed to provide medical nutrition therapy.

Q: Do you accept Insurance?

I do not accept insurance at this time but possibly in the future. As a self-pay provider, I’m able to offer more comprehensive, personalized nutrition, lifestyle coaching and support than what is typically permitted through insurance coverage.

Q: Do you offer in person appointments?

No, Purely Nourished is 100% virtual and sessions are conducted through Healthie via Zoom.

Q: What states do you offer nutrition and lifestyle coaching?

I am licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and fully authorized to provide nutrition services to residents of this state. I may also be able to work with clients residing in California, Colorado, Arizona, and Virginia; however, licensure laws in these states are subject to change. If you are not a Pennsylvania resident, please let me know so I can confirm that services can be provided in accordance with current regulations.

Q: How often should I schedule follow-up sessions?

Typically, in the beginning, follow-up sessions are every two weeks. You have the option of scheduling every week if you feel you need more support. Sessions every two weeks provide accountability, support, and frequent check-ins to help you build new habits. Over time, sessions may be spaced out to every 3–4 weeks. At that point, you’ll likely feel more confident and independent, and you can decide whether you’d like to continue or end services, only booking sessions as needed.

Q: What is your cancelation policy?

Once you have booked an appointment, that time is reserved exclusively for you. While unexpected changes happen, please respect everyone's time by canceling the appointment through your Healthie client portal at least 24 hours in advance.If you need to cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, please message me directly in Healthie, as Healthie will not allow late cancelations. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session amount and the session will be forfeited.It's understandable that emergencies may occasionally occur. Depending on the situation, you may be granted a one-time courtesy reschedule for a late cancellation due to a true emergency. Future late cancellations will not be eligible for additional exceptions.

Q: What is your refund policy?

Due to the amount of time, energy, and preparation that go into each service, all purchases are non-refundable. That said, your satisfaction and progress are incredibly important to me. If something feels off or isn't working for you, please don’t hesitate to speak up — I’m here to support you and I will do my best so we can find a solution together.

Q: How long do I have to use my consultation, follow-up session, and packages?

To help you stay on track and get the most out of your support, each service comes with an expiration:

  • Initial Consultation – expires 1 month from purchase date

  • Single Follow-Up Session – expires 1 month from purchase date

  • Simply Nourished | Starter Package – expires 2 months from purchase date

  • Truly Nourished | Standard Package – expires 4 months from purchase date

Q: Do you provide meal plans?

Currently, not right now but I will be in the future if there is a demand. The meal plans can be an add on to the packages or individual follow up sessions.

Q: How long should I expect to work with you?

That depends on your goals and the level of support you're looking for. Some people reach their goals after just a few sessions, while others benefit from a few months of ongoing guidance and support. In general, sustainable change tends to happen over 3 to 6 months to allow enough time to build new habits, but we’ll always move at a pace that feels right for you.

Q: Who is your coaching best suited for?

My coaching is best suited for individuals who are ready to move away from rigid dieting, calorie and macro counting, and strict food rules. If you’re tired of tracking every bite and want a more balanced, sustainable approach to nutrition and wellness, you’re in the right place!I work with clients who want to build healthier habits, feel confident in their food choices, and make meaningful lifestyle changes — whether that’s managing stress, supporting a healthy metabolism, improving sleep, exercising in a way that feels enjoyable, or learning how to nourish yourself with the right foods.
